Since its founding in 2002, this school has provided education, hope, and opportunity for orphaned and underserved children for over 23 years.
Today, it serves not only as an educational center but also as the headquarters of our operations in Afghanistan.
🌟 Impact Over the Years:
Many graduates have pursued higher education in fields such as Pharmacy, Engineering, Nursing, Computer Science, and more.
A number of our former students have become professionals, some married and supporting families of their own.
Several alumni have returned as teachers, continuing the cycle of education and empowerment by teaching the next generation of students in our schools.

Thanks to the generosity of the Ali family, this school was built and dedicated in loving memory of Roya Ali, to honor her spirit and bring hope to orphaned and impoverished children of Afghanistan.
🏠 In addition to the school building, over 250 single-family homes were constructed for families who were previously living in tents near the school. Each unit includes two rooms and one bathroom, providing dignity and stability to this underserved community.
☀️ The campus now features a solar power system and a clean water well, helping to meet the daily needs of the students and their families.
This school is a shining example of compassion in action—uplifting lives through education, shelter, and essential resources.

👩🏫 Faculty & Staff: 10 dedicated educators and staff membersThe Bilal Hamza School was founded in 2011 to meet the urgent educational needs of children in one of the most underserved neighborhoods of Kabul. Located in a rented facility, this primary school provides education from grades 1 through 6 for both boys and girls.
This location was intentionally chosen due to the lack of nearby schools and the economic hardship of local families. Over the years, it has become one of the top-performing schools in the area.

Known for academic excellence, graduates every 6 years consistently rank among the top students in their public schools.
The school currently serves over 110 students, most of whom come from low-income families.
We are incredibly proud of our teachers and staff, who are making a transformational difference in the lives of these children and giving them hope for a brighter future.

👩🏫 Faculty & Staff: 17 dedicated teachers and staffMaidan School was established in 2011 in the heart of the Ibrahimkhail village—one of the most underserved areas of Maidan Wardak Province. The school serves boys and girls from grades 1 through 6 and remains the only primary school in the entire village.
💡 A School Built on Hope and Vision
The land for this school was generously donated by the local community in 2009 to our late founder, Najibullah Aziz, whose dream was to bring education to impoverished children in rural Afghanistan. After his passing, The Children of War honored his vision by raising the necessary funds and building the school in 2011.

The school has undergone recent renovations to improve the learning environment.
It continues to be a cornerstone of education in the village, creating opportunities and hope for a better future.

👩🏫 Faculty & Staff: 18Since opening its doors in 2003, the Paghman School has been a dedicated all-girls institution, providing vital education in a region where access to learning is often limited—especially for girls.
Over the years, the school has proudly seen:
24 graduates go on to complete midwifery school
Many others excel in nursing, computer science, and various professions
Graduates who are now working and serving their community in Paghman
This school continues to be a cornerstone of hope and progress, offering girls the tools they need to build better futures for themselves, their families, and their communities.

👩🏫 Faculty & Staff: 9 — all womenEstablished in 2024, the Homaira Rahman School is a beacon of opportunity for children from some of the most vulnerable communities in Bamyan. Serving both girls and boys, the school is dedicated to providing primary education (grades 1 through 6) in a safe and inclusive environment.
🔹 Most students are orphans or come from extremely poor families.
🔹 The entire team—teachers and staff—are women, empowering the community and setting a powerful example for gender equity in education.This partnership between The Children of War and HRF represents a vital investment in the future of Afghanistan’s youth—nurturing knowledge, resilience, and hope.

🏫New School Opens in Baghlan, Afghanistan

Empowering a New Generation Through Education
In March 2025, a new elementary school was officially opened in one of the poorest regions of Baghlan, Afghanistan—a significant step toward educational access and community development.
This important project was made possible by the generous land donation from the family of the late Najib Aziz, and lovingly built by his brother, Wahid Aziz. Their dedication reflects a deep commitment to the people of Afghanistan and to the lasting value of education.
