Years Running

  • Ramadan Programs

Every year during Ramadan, we distribute food packages to thousands of poor families and daily hot food during Iftar. We cover hospitals, municipality workers, and street workers — always supporting Khatam-Quran-Iftar programs and zakat distributions.

  • Water Well Project

Drought has caused major problems across Afghanistan. Millions of families have no access to clean drinking water. Our water well project builds wells in remote villages, making a lasting difference in the lives of those impacted.

  • Daily Bread (Naan) Distribution

Food insecurity remains the greatest threat to everyday Afghans — 40% of the country's population face acute food insecurity, and children are at particularly increased risk of starvation. Join our community and help feed every child.

  • Emergency Relief

With 30 years of experience, in every natural disaster that has struck Afghanistan, The Children of War has always been the first to provide immediate assistance to families in crisis. Floods, earthquakes, conflict — you can always count on us.

  • Badakhshan Vocational Training Center

Serving girls students since 2019 — endorsing financial stability and skills. Women in remote provinces and villages need more help. This program is dedicated to women's self-sufficiency in one of Afghanistan's most underserved regions.

  • Winter Relief

Poverty and brutal cold weather make a devastating combination. Each winter, The Children of War provides heating materials, warm clothing, and food supplies to those in need across Afghanistan — keeping families alive through the harshest months.

  • Job Creation

Since 2021, The Children of War has provided jobs for over 100 people across seven provinces in Afghanistan — creating dignified work opportunities, fighting poverty, and contributing to the cleanliness and beauty of communities.

  • Paghman Tailoring Training Center

Serving girls since 2003. Women learn tailoring and how to run a small business from home — becoming contributors to their family's income. This program builds lasting financial independence for women and girls in Paghman.

  • Housing Units

Homelessness is a critical issue in Afghanistan. Since 2018, The Children of War has built over 300 single-home units for poor families who returned to Afghanistan from refugee camps in Pakistan — giving them dignity and a place to call home.

  • Qurbani Program

Since 1994, each year during Eid-ul-Adha, The Children of War performs Qurbani on behalf of our donors and distributes fresh meat to the poorest communities — including widows and orphans — across Afghanistan.

  • Khatem and Khayrat Program

The funeral and charity ceremony is a great help for the needy. This program prevents unnecessary spending and directs resources to the people of Afghanistan who need it most — supporting Friday night and commemorative day traditions for the community.

  • Laghman Vocational Training Center

Poverty in Afghanistan's struggling economy hits widows especially hard since 2022. These classes teach women to sew a wide variety of clothing from patterns — enabling them to sell their work, make clothes for their families, and build a sustainable small home business.
